The Master of Public Policy (MPP) at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy at the University of Erfurt is a two-year, practice-oriented, international, and interdisciplinary degree program designed for young professionals seeking careers in public service, including government agencies, international organizations, and the non-profit sector. The curriculum draws from political science, economics, sociology, public administration, and law to equip policy analysts and future decision-makers with the knowledge and skills needed to advance the public interest and make sound, evidence-based policy decisions.
The program is full-time and spans four semesters. The first three semesters involve coursework and practical modules, while the fourth semester is dedicated to writing the final thesis. Students earn a total of 120 ECTS credit points upon completion.

The program includes two practice-oriented modules: a political internship and a project group. Additionally, students improve their language skills through language modules, with basic German knowledge compulsory for those without prior knowledge.
Graduates can pursue careers in state-level and national governments, public administration, international organizations, civil society, think tanks, consultancies, and private companies. Alumni have found roles as policy analysts, leaders, social entrepreneurs, diplomats, development experts, stakeholders, journalists, managers, and researchers in organizations such as the European Parliament, The World Bank, and The United Nations.
