Teaching is not that good to be honest especially in Master in Computer Science . Lecture doesn’t teach well that you can come across courses on Coursera or Edx from US universities. May be teaching is good in German taught program but I don’t know. Assignments and exams are super tough which has nothing to do with lecture content.
I am enrolled in the Data Science Master's program. It is a relatively new program (it exists just a few years) and it accepts max. 40 students each year, which mostly come from mathematics, computer science, statistics and physics. Therefore, we work in small groups and it is a lot easier to make good connections, study together with colleagues and learn from each other. The program is widely international, 40% of the people are Austrian, while the rest are international (from different continents basically). The program is meant for students with good both mathematics and programming skills and knowledge, so it might be challenging for students coming from other Bachelors. It offers a wide variety of courses, the lecturers are well prepared and finishing my first year I can say that there is a huge input from the courses and it offers great perspectives on further career opportunities. The good part is that you can choose a lot of courses from different departments (for example Bioinformatics, Finance, etc), but in these departments they assume that you have the basics for the topics, so it is advised to choose carefully.
Workload: There are a lot of assignments, pen and paper exercies, programming assignments, sometimes midterms and in the end almost every course has a written or oral exam. The exams are mostly from VU courses, meaning you usually have only 1 chance of doing it (per semester/year), but they are usually fine and not meant to knock off people. If you have studied continuously and done the assignments and exercises yourself with understanding, you should not have a problem.
Since it is a new program, the downside may be that there are fewer opportunities to do an Erasmus exchange, but on the other hand, in the second year, there are interesting projects and research courses that collaborate with companies or institutes where you can try something hands-on and build up your CV.
