Chemical and Energy Engineering BewertungenOtto von Guericke Universität Magdeburg

A welcoming university atmosphere with helpful international student support, affordable accommodation, good public transportation, and a diverse international student communit
If you are truly passionate about Chemical and Process Engineering, Fluid Dynamics, Energy, and Natural Resources, then this course can be a good choice for you.
But if you are choosing this course just because it is offered and you simply want to study abroad, I would suggest considering other courses as well. The course is quite challenging, and it can also be difficult to find places to complete labs and a Master's thesis.
The university atmosphere is very good and welcoming. The International Student Council is helpful and supports students in many aspects. Affordable accommodation is available, and the city has good public transportation. There are also many international students, which makes it easier to meet people from different cultures and feel comfortable.
Many international students struggle after joining this course, and it often takes 8–10 semesters to complete instead of the planned 4 semesters. The curriculum is poorly structured and could be better designed to meet modern education and industry standards.
Good
For chemical engineering graduates probably it won't be a good choice, but you can take it. They offer a variety of electives which is actually nice. But for other students from other discipline can see this course as a challenge, but still interesting I guess. The university and location is very suitable like it's affordable.
Maybe the location of university

Course Structure
Lecturers can turn out boring sometimes
New beginning full of hope gaining knowledge and experiences and use it further in future.
To learn chemical and energy engineering and make a world better place to live by utilising knowledge learnt for research and find alternative to fuels .
University campus is awesome with best connectivity to city
Not yet all good and hope i will not get it sure of that.
This is perfect course for chemical engineering student and also upcoming future is on energy side so course subjects is very helpful for student who finding scope in energy. one recommendation from my side University can also add more elective subjects like Solar, wind, semiconductor and photovoltaic systems it is very useful.
I'm an international student in this course, and honestly, I think I made a really good decision by choosing the Chemical and Energy Engineering (CEE) program. I had my bachelor's in chemical engineering, then worked for a year as a process engineer in my home country, and only after that did I apply. So I had a general idea of what I’d be studying—and that helped me a lot when things got intense.
Most of the subjects are really well taught and manageable, even if your previous major wasn’t chemical engineering. But one thing I’d definitely recommend: make sure you have a solid background in thermodynamics and calculus. You'll need both of them more than you expect. Be prepared for a lot of calculus-based problems, seriously, a lot.
The campuses are nice! Not all of them are super modern, but most have been renovated and are fully functional. Plus, most buildings have elevators, which is great. The usual German issue with heating and air conditioning applies here too.
Lecturers are, for the most part, very helpful and open to questions. Just don’t rely too much on emails it’s much easier to get help if you ask them in person. I’ve learned that face-to-face conversations get you much further in this uni.
My biggest tip for anyone thinking of joining this course: be aware that you might need an extra semester to finish everything. There are a lot of subjects, and most of them only give you 5 credit points max. Since you need 90 credits before starting your thesis, the workload per semester can be heavy. It’s totally normal to take a bit longer, and honestly, it’s worth taking the time if it helps you understand things properly.
Overall, it's a challenging but rewarding program, and if you're ready to put in the effort (and drink a lot of coffee), you'll learn a ton and come out well-prepared for real-world work in chemical or energy industries.
It’s a good course for students. I highly recommend this course to everyone.

I personally found this course very intriguing. Also the study material from professors can be little bit better in terms of numerical. Although many reference book and supporting materials can be found in the library.
