It's a great program if you want to learn different disciplines. Overall, the course offerings are okay, but it is dwindling with budget cuts. Some lecturers are great, others are lazy. It's relatively easy to study there if you do the work and show up. There is a great student vibe with many social events! Some profs care about students and like to engage, others would rather sit in their office and do research never talking to students. There are not a lot of women that hold tenured positions; this is problematic and there are many non-tenured teachers. If they leave then we are left with a lot of older, German profs with more conservative views. Like most universities in Germany, I'm sure, they are plagued by administrative inefficiencies because every dept has its own secretary. FU would do wonders to have a centralized registrar.
