Studying Data Science at FU Berlin offered a rigorous blend of math and computer science that, while challenging initially, ultimately provided the perfect foundation for a career in Berlin's tech hub.
Studying Data Science at FU Berlin has been a transformative experience. I was originally inspired by the program's focus on blending mathematics, computer science, and real-world applications. While balancing the rigorous foundational modules in statistics and machine learning was initially challenging, mastering these technical skills to solve complex problems has been incredibly rewarding.
The absolute biggest plus is the strong emphasis on interdisciplinary research, giving us the freedom to apply our skills across different scientific fields.
My biggest criticism would be the steep learning curve in the first semester; the theoretical and mathematical expectations are extremely high, often leaving little room for immediate hands-on practice.
