MA Choreography ProgrammePalucca Hochschule für Tanz Dresden
Kurzbeschreibung & Facts
The MA Choreography Programme at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden is a two-year Master's program designed to further develop creative skills in choreography. It combines theoretical and practical knowledge in an interconnected course structure, offering opportunities to expand an individual choreographic language. The program features a flexible module system that promotes residencies and supports the maintenance of professional networks. It emphasizes exchange with other art forms and creative educational institutions, encouraging experimentation with different styles and dance techniques. The curriculum covers areas such as new media, architecture, stage technology, psychology, and management, with contributions from internal professors and international guest lecturers. Students have the opportunity to shape artistic processes with approximately 150 students training to become dancers at the university, who are educated in ballet, contemporary dance, and improvisation. The interconnection of the Choreography, Dance Teacher, and Dance study programs is a key element of the university's profile.
The program offers a virtual Online Info Day on January 19, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., where prospective students can learn more about the program's focus and admission conditions from the program director, Prof. Katharina Christl.
