The "Product Refinement" program is a globally unique Master of Science program designed to provide students with technical expertise and develop their personal competences. The program aims to fully qualify students and prepare them for the various requirements they will encounter in their future careers.
The program includes lectures, seminars, internships, and excursions to provide a solid knowledge of technical processes, advanced sciences, and economic aspects. Teamwork is used to solve some tasks, encouraging cooperation among students.
This Master program spans three semesters and starts twice a year, in both the winter and summer semesters. A total of 90 credit points must be collected. Building on the 210 credit points from a seven-semester Bachelor degree, graduates can achieve a total of 300 points, qualifying them for Ph.D. programs.
Bachelor graduates with 180 points from a six-semester course can obtain an additional 30 points through additional modules.
Students can tailor their studies by choosing two elective modules.
Upon completing the Master's thesis in the third semester, graduates receive the degree "Master of Science," enabling them to proceed to a Ph.D. program.
Admission requirements include a three-year Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Engineering or Natural Sciences (210 ECTS, or 180 ECTS with a gateway). A final grade well above average ("2.5" or better in the German system) is required. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate sufficient English language skills through TOEFL (min. 72 points), TOEIC (min. 785 points), IELTS (min. 5.0), or equivalent. Non-native German speakers must provide proof of German language skills (B1 or equivalent).
