Kurzbeschreibung & Facts

The FACT (Finance, Accounting, Controlling and Taxation) program is a full-time Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree offered by the Department of Business and Economics at the HWR Berlin. The standard period of study is 3 semesters, and the program commences in the winter semester (October 1st). The language of instruction is English, with some courses offered in German/English.

To apply with a German university degree, applicants must use the HWR Berlin application platform (S.A.M.). Applicants with a non-German Bachelor's degree must apply through uni-assist e. V., a certification office that converts foreign grades and degrees into their German equivalents.

Admission requirements include:

  • A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Business studies from an accredited university

  • At least 210 credit points (or 180 credits with the requirement to obtain an additional 30 credits through a placement in the third semester, extending the program to four semesters)

  • Completion of at least two subjects from the four relevant fields of Finance, Accounting, Controlling, and Taxation in the previous degree program with at least 20 ECTS in total

  • English language skills at a high B2 level, demonstrated by a standardized test such as TOEFL (iBT minimum score 83), IELTS (minimum score 6.0), TOEIC Four Skills (minimum score 1200), PTE Academic (minimum score 67), Cambridge English Scale (minimum score 170), Oxford Test of English (minimum score 126), or UNIcert II

  • A letter of motivation in English

  • A curriculum vitae in English

Helpful, but not required, are proof of work experience in the field of studies (at least one year) and a GMAT/GMAT Focus score above 600 points (which waives the need for separate English proficiency proof).

The application periods are April 15th to June 15th for applicants with a German university degree and March 15th to May 15th for applicants without a German university degree.
