The MA in Global History at Freie Universität Berlin explores the history of global interconnections and developments. This English-language program combines historical studies with area studies, encouraging students to gain in-depth knowledge of a specific region's cultural and social history. Students will learn to contextualize this knowledge within broader global structures and transformations through comparisons and a focus on interactions and exchange.
To be admitted, applicants need a Bachelor's degree in History, Regional Studies, or a related field with a minimum of 60 credits in historical or regional topics and must demonstrate English skills at a C1 level or higher (CEFR).
The program lasts 4 semesters and leads to a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree. There are no tuition fees, but students are required to pay semester fees and contributions each semester.
