MSc in Leading Sustainable Transformationsemlyon business school

The MSc in Leading Sustainable Transformations is an 18-month, full-time, English-taught program designed to equip students with the expertise to lead responsible and effective change in response to sustainability challenges. The program focuses on the intersection of innovation, corporate sustainability, and systems thinking, preparing future leaders to implement sustainable transformation across sectors. It emphasizes hands-on projects, academic immersion in Europe, and real-world impact to develop critical competencies for leading sustainability initiatives, managing change, and fostering collaboration.

The curriculum is structured into three main periods. The first period (September to December in Paris) focuses on foundational tools to assess and respond to transformation in business environments, exploring sustainability across key business functions and teaching methodologies like carbon footprint analysis and data analytics using Python and R. The second period (January to March in Paris) concentrates on designing and implementing sustainable business transformations, integrating sustainability into strategy, marketing, technology, and organizational culture, and developing soft skills such as negotiation and agile project management. This period includes an international seminar in Brussels and Amsterdam. The third period (April to July at The London Interdisciplinary School) focuses on applying interdisciplinary thinking to real-world sustainability challenges, analyzing sustainability as a systemic concept, and aligning ethics, behavior, and organizational culture with sustainable goals. This period includes the Red Thread Project, a team-based consulting assignment.

Following the academic periods, students undertake a Professional Thesis and Internship from July to December, which can be anywhere in the world. The internship lasts from 4 to 6 months and can be an internship, VIE, fixed-term contract, or permanent contract. The program is accredited by the Conférence des Grandes Écoles (CGE) and leads to a Master of Science degree.
